I have a theory, it is theory because I have only tested it out on myself and it may not work for all people. If you listen to techno or some kind of music that is mostly beat and no voice then you may also have the same effect as this. In my room at home I constantly have my computer on, it provides a constant sound of white noise. White noise helps me focus by relaxing my mind and then I am able to point it a certain way. If you live in a place with lots of noises or no noise at all you may find yourself struggling to think often, but if you add white noise to the equation it becomes much easier to think.
